I have installed Ubuntu 8.10 on an Acer Aspire One which is dual booting with WindowsXP.
WinXP works correctly. The Ubuntu install did not activate the Atheros ath5k driver.

My problem is the Wireless driver activation.
Hardware Drivers reports
"Support for Atheros 802.11 wireless LAN cards"
"This driver was just disabled, but is still in use" Pressing 'Activate' does nothing.
At the top of this window it reads 'No proprietary drivers are in use on this system'.

I have followed 'https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/Atheros'
including their blacklist instructions.

What do you suggest I do next?

Thank you.
