Lets face it, VNC sucks.

It does not scale desktops well to something that is enjoyable to use as the windows remote desktop connection.

But what if Ubuntu and the guys over at nomachine could somehow come to an agreement whereby they can install nxsever by default to give remote access to at least 2 users simultaneously.

In my estimation the free nx server is shoulders above vnc. And there is no reason why it could be in such a way arranged that they get sales from its integration into ubuntu because ppl enjoy using it so much.

Sure you can install it yourself but i am now fed up with going thru the mundane task of setting up nx on installations of ubuntu. Lets have it by default :)

P.S I am not talking about FreeNX but Nomachine NX.

Does it work with Compiz now? The last time I tried, if logged into a running remote desktop with Compiz you couldn't move the mouse around or do anything. Is that fixed?

Interesting ... I am not too sure, as I don't run compiz usually.
