UFO lands in Washington DC

The whole world watches.

Alien comes out and a nervous soldier shoot him.

Killer robot comes out to help master.

Alien tells robot to stop.

Alien slips away with anyone noticing and stays with a family.

Alien contacts leading minds of the world, telling them to stop building atom bombs or the "coalition of alien worlds" will destroy Earth using their killer robots.

...

It is THE sci-fi classic.

+1 on being the best.

Klatoo (sp?) does not tell them to stop building bombs but to not spread their aggression beyond planet Earth or the whole army of Gorts will obliterate the planet if that happens.

Yes, the atom bombs were the reasons the others started percieving them as dangerous.

I wasn't a crappy movie!!

Probably the most believable Sci-fi of the fifties. Effects were not bad for the times. At least there wasn't smoke trailing behind the spaceship and floating upwards as you saw it fly by and it did not wobble like it was on a string.

I IS a classic and a must see.

The remake exchanges nuclear proliferation into outer space for ecological destruction of Earth.

And it makes sense that no one has seen it because it comes out tomorrow. :p

The new one looks fairly good. For a remake, anyway.

Usually, remakes don't work out well. Anyone remember Invasion with Nicole Kidman? That movie sucked...

Aliens. I love aliens. This movie is going to be kick***!

Aliens trying to save Earth b obliterating it's righteous inhabitants.
Total coolness.
