Software: Ubuntu 8.10 (of course!). Downloaded, checksum verified, all okay.
Hardware: Dell Latitude D610, Intel, 2 GB RAM, 500 GB HD, ATI Mobile Radeon.
Multiple partitions (boot loader, root, etc.)
Clean WindowsXP installation, no service packs. Then, dual boot installation with Ubuntu 8.10.
Installation always goes through (still haven't figured out how to change the Windows partition size).
Either (after self-test) the laptop just stops (regardless of the OS being chosen), or I get the message "Error loading boot loader".
I tried it several times, considering the time it takes to install Windows, ah, let's not talk about this.
Anybody seen something like that before (maybe with this Dell kind of computer)? Any input would be more than appreciated.
