KDE4 logout and shutdown time

Hey everybody, just a quick question, my KDE4 Intrepid takes a long time to either logout or shutdown, it just hangs around there for a good while, then makes the logout noise and after around 30 seconds proceeds to my normal shutdown process, is there a reason why this takes so long and how i can shorten it up?
