ubuntu 8.10 updates - firefox issues

Hi all,

Finally decided it would be a good idea to install the updates that the little ballon suggested were a good idea on boot up but now having done so I've lost my firefox bookmarks.

Anyone know if/how i can retrieve them?

anyone? There must be a way to get my all important bookmarks back! Some file undelting program??

I don't know what would have caused that. There's nothing in Firefox 3.0.4 that I'm aware of that could destroy your bookmarks like that. You may want to try opening the bookmarks.html file in your profile folder (http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager) and see if you are able to access your bookmarks that way. If so, you can go into Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks... and import them.
