I an working on an alternative desktop solution for my school and I need a solution for M$ steadystate. It just needs to be a program that will restore the system back the way it was before the user got on it; and it was be a plus if no new servers had to go online.

Thanks

You can edit each users "Administrative" powers.

Normal desktop users can change their own desktop settings, but cannot interfere with system files.

But you may want to restrict that too: http://tombuntu.com/index.php/2008/05/27/how-to-lock-down-gnome/
