Problems installing ubuntu 8.10 on ps3

When I attempt to install is it says to press enter. So I press enter and it says some things about usbs being unregistered and then the screen goes black and the disk stops reading. But the ps3 does not shut down, it just sits there doing nothing with a blank screen. I don't understand what is going on and I would like to install this on my ps3. Thanks, Scott

While it may be possible, I suggest you download YellowDog Linux, a distro designed for the PS3.
