Wireless trouble

I just setup the wireless on my Acer Aspire 4720Z laptop. I guess you can say it works. As I write this, I have an 8% signal when my Acer Aspire One next to this one has an 85% signal. This Acer has the Signal Up Technology built in, so I don't know if I need to set it up too or not. I had awesome signal in 8.04. Is there something I need to install to have good signal? Any and all suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.
