My Dell C400 has run well on several Ubuntu releases. It ran very well on 8.04. A recent disk failure caused me to install a new disk and load 8.10. BAD! No matter how many vga= kernel parameters that I tried it never correctly recognized the video that gave no problem to 8.04 and earlier releases. I finally gave up and installed 8.04 which "just worked". I'll stick with 8.4!
