I'm trying to figure out how to keep gnome from displaying _unmounted_ disks in the "Places" menu. Can anyone tell me how this can be done?

Thanks.

I have never seen an option or a request like this. I am only replying because you got my curiosity and I want to be able to hide unmounted drives now. I am researching this. I will post what I find.

Found 2 interesting articles:

http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-428196.html

I'm going to put a request into gnome.

udisks will list all connected devices (mounted or not). For more info:

man udisks
