boot trouble

To anyone who can help,

I just received the new 8.10 version of ubuntu, but when I try to boot from the CD-ROM, it either stops at the desktop(and also displays 1-4 mouse pointers, or it displays the tiny CD icon and stops. Can someone please help me? Thanks to anyone who can help!

what kind of version 32/64bit u using, what are the specs of your pc (ram,graphics,..).

would make help easier
