It's called Apophis. It's 390m wide. And it could hit Earth in 31 years time... [-o<

Don't scare people that way.

It has a chance to hit the earth in 2036. Setting aside the timeframe to come up with a solution for this, there is a very highchance that it will miss earth altogether.

So, we may die in 2036, we may die tomorrow. But we may live another million years as a race, if we do not wipe out eachother ourselves.

Pah, only 4 on the Torino scale (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Torino_scale). It's not even categorized as threadening.

4 on Torino scale: A close encounter, meriting attention by astronomers. Current calculations give a 1% or greater chance of collision capable of regional devastation. Most likely, new telescopic observations will lead to re-assignment to Level 0. Attention by public and by public officials is merited if the encounter is less than a decade away.

I would love to see a meteor crash Earth, I know I would die, but must be hell of a bang. Anyway I should stop smoking.
