Hi Guys,

I already have two partitions on my computer: WinXP ( C: ) and Linux ( F: ). How can I just install ubuntu on the empty Linux partition without all the partitioning business?

Thanks.

well plug in the cd; use the partitioner to choose your free partition (make sure you have a swap partition format them in ext3 and swap and then just install grub will take care of the rest!

Thanks, gabril, but I need a step-by-step guide. In the "Prepare disk space"-dialogue, do I choose manual?

Yes, try the manual partitioning option, and here is a guide that I think might help you:
