Hey, I tend to not be a big fan of self-promotion (aka blogspam) on message boards, but I'm currently doing something that might be of some interest to the kind of people on Linux message boards.

I was awarded a Watson Fellowship (http://www.watsonfellowship.org) to travel around the world investigating hackers and the free software movement. I'm particularly interested in visiting hacklabs and other places where tech communities have constituted themselves in IRL physical locations.

I've been keeping a blog here: http://www.withoutatraceroute.com/ and I'd be honored to have some readers who I don't know personally.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions for groups/people that would be cool to meet with, I'd love to hear those too. I'm currently in Europe, but I'll probably be in South America in early 2009.

Thanks, everyone,
