View Full Version : [ubuntu] Kernel not working after installing Xen

Hi,

Let me start by saying I am extremly new to Ubuntu - Linux as well. Although I think most things have been quite logical so far, up until now.

I might have done something stupid. I installed ubuntu-xen-desktop just to test it without really reading up on it first. And now afterwards I realize Ubuntu 8.10 might not be that friendly with xen - is that so?

Anyhow. I got all the success signs from the installation and rebooted the computer to find out it will not boot. It says something like "no support for eap in the cpu" "could not load kernel"

I booted up from the installation cd and found all the files on my disk, so in the worst scenario I can save all my files and reinstall ubuntu, but it sure would be nicer to just fix the kernel and get it to boot.

Thanks for your help!
