I have a Ubuntu 8.10 install from a live CD on a separate partition from windows. Then I added Kubuntu/KDE and I want to remove it. I wanted to try the KDE desktop and didn't care for it. I removed Kubuntu desktop using synaptic and it's still there when I switch sessions. It even boots and runs fine like I reomved nothing. I know it doesn't take up that much space and I really don't want to mess anything up trying to get rid of it. Is there a fool-proof, safe way to get rid of it without affecting Ubuntu?
