I have been looking for some information on why my Ubuntu 8.04 LTS workstation can't see window server shares when I browse the network.
First of all let me tell you what it is not -
- I am not running a peer to peer network.
- I am not using LikeWise (would prefer not to)
I am able to successfully log into my domain from my workstation. I can open the server in question but it doesn’t display/show any of the shares.
I am using winbind and samba.
I also have a Ububtu 8.04 Sever installed with folders shared that I can't access either.
I shared a folder on the Workstation and was able to access the folder from my Windows XP workstation as well as my Windows Server. I can access the shares on the Ububtu Server from either of my Windows devices. And finally I have a Buffalo NAS with shares that I can access though it is not a member of my Domain – it is seen as a Workgroup device (workgroup is named the same as the Domain)
Any help will be appreciated.
Respectfully –
