eh its not needed in my opinion, for me linux has always loaded faster then windows and apps are snappy as well.
it depends on your specs, for me Linux is lightning.

all I know is in my experience Linux can boot in a bout 30 seconds or less depending (such as file system checks)

There is "preload" , sudo apt-get install preload , it works for me........
