When I shut down Ubuntu 8.10, the OS unloads, the screen powers off as usual but then the screen lights up all the pixels and then fade out without my machine powering off. It's very bizarre.
This started after I upgraded to 8.10 from 8.04.
It's not happening with my Desktop which uses a LCD screen as well, so I'm wondering if it's a hardware specific problem.
Has anyone else experienced this same bug? If so, did they find a solution to it?
My video card is an Nvidia 8600M GT with 512RAM, and I'm using the latest Nvidia drivers.
