It's too vista-like. It looks very nice, But I just don't like the vista look. KDE betas are notorious for changing appearances though, let's hope they fix that ugly white outline around the menu. I wish KDE had a tiling window function

Ehem, the only thing similar is the taskbar svg file... I'm really getting tired of explaining this.

Oxygen Style is completely different. The Oyxgen Icon theme is a lot better, tough they share some similarities in some icons. The Oxygen Plasma theme is completely different, taskbar svg aside as I already said...

I liked KDE 4 better than 3, but right now I'm inlove with XFCE so maybe I'll try KDE 4 when it hits 4.3. Thanks for the news

I wonder if there will be a repository for this in hardy, I want to see what KDE 4.2 can bring.
I just hope that plasma gets more stable and features I need are added.

That doesn't invalidate the criticisms. While the overall theme is quite nice and often differs from Vista, some of the most immediately obvious components of the GUI don't. This isn't so much an issue of aesthetics as it is an issue of giving new users a false impression that Linux works like a Microsoft operating system; which will only lead to frustration for the user.

If users see something familiar they'll be inclined to work on prior experiences and then have certain expectations of functionality.

Wow, looks awesome. Have to try it..

I don't think Vista when I look at it though. I have vista on my laptop and it's quite a different experience using it.
