Desktop effects for onboard video Compiz cannot be enabled

Having given up since I thought I could not install desktop effects on this computer, I decided to install Enlightenment and it runs on my desktop.

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8378 [S3 UniChrome] Integrated Video (rev 01)

The only problem is, I have a desktop but no way of accessing applications and programs. All I have is a desktop and can play around with effects but can not access anything. Alt plus F2 does not bring up a run program.

So I should be able to run compiz or Beryl if still available. Or what can be done with Enlightenment to find my Ubuntu install, not just a desktop with no applications.

Ok I found my applications, the user menu is a little hard to find but I have everything with Enlightenment.
