Hello Community!
First post after several years tinkering with Mandriva and Ubuntu. Have installed Intrepid AMD 64 on my Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop. I have a wireless DSL network and I want to print to an EPSON Stylus Photo RX560 which is USBd into a Windows Vista 32-bit machine. Previously had it working in Hardy.
So I install Samba and use the install printer tool to locate the printer at URI: smb://JAMES_01/192.168.0.4/EPSON_RX560. It reads 'printer share found' and I continue to select the driver "Epson Stylus Photo RX560 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.0-rc1". The printer is installed and all is well until I try to print a test page. CUPS reports: "Error writing spool: Call timed out: server did not respond after 10000 milliseconds." On the Windows machine a file arrives in the spooler: "Remote Downlevel Document" but the printer remains inactive. Can print from both machines via USB no problem.
Any help would be appreciated!
