Humorus thread - Linux answers vs Windows Answers

So you ask a simple question:

"How do I convert FLAC to V0?"

Linux people answer: "It's not recommended to do so because (insert answers here) <-- this answer ignores the OP's question completely

Windows answer: "Just use (insert one of 20 programs that do the job)"

Anyone else ever notice that? BTW I use linux in my life, no ripping on linux, just a funny thought that I think is quite true!

Re: Humorus thread - Linux answers vs Windows Answers

    Q. How do you play ???? game?

    Windows
    A. Buy / download the program, install, and enjoy. Watch as the windows updates to fix security issues slow your computer to a standstill as they create more security issues.

    Linux:
    A. Install medibuntu, make sure you don't have the BadAlloc error, install the restricted hardware drivers, check WineAPPDB, install Wine, install winetricks/winedoors, install a huge amount of windows dll's, install directx, (if needed)install windows media player, (if needed)install ies4linux, edit the 'registry' to speed the play, and it might work and it might not, according to if your hardware/software configuration has been tested. Post your results to WineAPPDB for others to see.

    Pout.

Re: Humorus thread - Linux answers vs Windows Answers

    it depends on the question:

Question 1: I want a media player and I want to know how to install it

Windows answer: windows media player is pre installed, it collects all your data so if you pirate beware!
But you could use iTunes (lame) or Winamp (underdeveoped!)
    download them
    double click
    next
    agree to license/ eula
    next
    next
    next
    next
    finish

Linux answer: Rhythmbox is pre installed, its not as fancy looking as iTunes or WMP, but it doesnt collect data or use DRM!
Or you can use Amarok (perhaps the best audio player out there!) or Audacious (Uncertain future like most xmms spawns but it works well!)
    to install open up synaptic
    type in password
    search
    click
    apply
    add dependencies if needed
    apply
    download
    install
    done

Windows Problem: OMG! I need a word processing program for school and they want to charge me $300!

Linux Answer: Click Add/Remove Programs and install openoffice, it's free and it runs better and is completely compatible with pc formats.
