Ubuntu hangs on toshiba satellite pro p300-145
I have a Satellite Pro p300-145 with an ATI HD3650 and Windows Vista pre-installed. I've installed Ubuntu 8.10 in a spare partiton (booting with GRUB) and ati drivers following the Unofficial ATI Linux Drivers Wiki (http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubu...allation_Guide). It has been running properly for some months, but in the last week it started hanging with apparently no reason (no messages, no keyboard nor mouse response, it just gets freezed and the caps lock led starts blinking). I haven't do anything strange (no weird hardware nor packages installation). When it hungs it sometimes does a clik (noise).
I've boot from the Ubuntu CD and try to restore the system, but the same thing happens. No matter what configuration (my own configuration or the CD fresh one) if the GUI (default Gnome one) is running it will eventually hang.
The Vista installation works fine, so it doesn't seem to be a hardware problem.
Is there anybody with the same problem? Does anyone have a clue?
