Yesterday, ASUS Nordic proclaimed they will be dropping Linux, due to low demand. With the vast number of netbooks they now sell, offering the doubled number with Linux seemed to be unnecessary. Nordic (Norwegian) inhabitants just happen to be a bit too rich for Linux.
However, ASUS said that bringing back Linux was not out of question. If need of this arised, Linux models would be possible to see in the future.
Now, with a torrent of negative comments on IT-websites posting the news, ASUS has taken back their statement, and told they'll be selling two new models with Linux, the S101-LX and the 901-LX. In addition, the current models will also continue their sale with Linux preinstalled.
