Nothing? It goes on, it goes off, it goes on, it goes off. Why? It makes me want to throw it through a wall. It's more annoying than trying to get a wireless device to work with ndiswrapper.

Is this a new laptop or an old laptop? When was the last time you aired it out? What kind of surface is it on?

New laptop. No surface. Cleaning is not the problem. It has something to do with the fan/firmware/driver...idk.

Never had a problem with my Gateway laptop. Never even heard the fan. Like the other person said, BIOS usually control fan speeds not the OS. I've honestly never heard of a manufacturer allowing the end user to adjust the fan settings. Most manufacturers won't let you edit anything in the BIOS but the date, time, and boot sequence (everything else is locked). I sold my laptop since then though, but I think it was a model MT6451. Never had any complaints about it.

Lots of bios have had fan settings over the years...but not this one.
A computer allows you to make more mistakes faster than any invention in human history - with the possible exceptions of handguns and tequila.
