Question Help: external monitor via analog on laptop = flickering

I have an external LG Flatron L203WT monitor connected via analog to my Acer Aspire 5633wlmi (5630 series) laptop.

This is causing the screen to flicker a lot. When I move windows or the mouse i see faint horizontal lines on the screen. This is quite anoying when working with graphics.

Is there anything I can do to limit/reduce these lines and flickering?

Unfortunately my laptop does not have digital (dvi) input so I cannot use the digital connector of my external monitor.

    Help is greatly appreciated!
