Ubuntu 8.10 on Macbook 1.1?

Is there a "how-to" for running Ubuntu 8.10 on Macbook 1.1 (first generation)? I tried to find one, but went in this big circle:

I was originally using this forum to figure things out:

Then a link was posted at the top of that^ page, which redirected me to this forum specifically for Ubuntu 8.10:

That page^ lead me away (explaining that it was not for Macbook 1.1), and to this instructions page, which lead me back to the first page

The first wiki you linked to is the correct one. There currently seem to be some issues with organization of the MacBook wikis, but go for the one with your hardware over the one for the latest release- it will generally be mostly the same instructions from one Ubuntu release to the next, or at least closer than it is between different generation MacBooks.

This has been fixed. The first page should never have linked to the second page.

The rest of the redirection was due to the fact that there was two SantaRosa pages. We are in the process of cleaning that up so that it is not so confusing. The initial page you visited is the best infromation available for your MacBook.
