    Amarok Question

I just installed Amarok after using Rhythmbox for 1.5 years on a whim so I could rule out software being the culprit of shoutcast streams suddenly dying (still waiting to see if this is what it is although so far it appears Rhythmbox may be to blame).

My question is, is Amarok using a bunch of different CODEC libraries? I'm noticing music from the same shoutcast station (Groove Salad) sounding so much crisper in Amarok ... or have I simply had too much coffee?

On a side note, wow, Amarok is WAY COOL!

Amarok usually uses the xine plugins, that may be the difference.

Thanks for the reply. Definitely looks like a problem I was having with either Rhythmbox or the CODECs Rhythmbox is using since Amarok has been playing now for almost four hours now without dropping/stopping the stream.

Gotta love Linux/Ubuntu ... You don't like the Gnome app you're using but you're not using KDE? No problem, the KDE app will use the appropriate stack to launch the KDE app via Synaptic.
