    Setting up Samba / Fileserver

    Ubuntu 8.04
    Shorewall Firewall
    Clients: WinXPsp3 & MacOS Leopard & Tiger

I am trying to set up my server as a file server so that I can upload files w/out going thru sftp. Is there a secure way to do this?

I tried setting up Samba & opened ports 137, 138 & 139 in Shorewall. Alas, still could not connect. Plus I dn't NetBIOS is too secure.

    Thanks, -Barry

Trying to set up a file server that can be accessed from outside the internal network? or from inside only?
