Ok, here goes...

I am brand new to linux and ubuntu. I just installed 7.10 desktop to give it a try and, so far, it is absolutely wonderful. Everything works great, except....

I have a Gigafast 802.11b usb wireless I am trying to get running. Having never worked with linux and installing hardware, I am already stuck. The dongle came with linux drivers, however it is not a simple double click and they install for you. I have managed to extract them, but don't understand all the linux jargon for making them work. Am I already over my head or can this be fixed????
