SD Bluetooth Dongle. Can I make one?

Hello. I was just crawling the net to find a suitable bluetooth dongle for use on my (non-internal) Laptop [HP Pavilion tx1308nr] and i keep seeing these tiny USB ones, but they are a a bit more money than the usual-sized USB ones ($30 for tiny and $7 for regular). Then I realized i dont wanna use somethign that big, i'll breakit it in an instant, hanging about 6cm from my lappy; is kinda un-intuitive.

So, i came up with the bright idea of buying a cheap, regular-sized USB dongle and use a microSD-to-SD adapter.
Basically take all the internals of the USB dongle and cram them into the microSD adapter.

    ADVANTAGES:
    Frees up your USB jack
All self-contained, nothing hanging out form-factor (since they break easily)
May be used in other SD capable devices (cameras, phones, etc)

    DISADVANTAGES:
    Is it even possible
May reduce range, due to internal design
Compatibility issues due to standards noncompliance

I know, I can just buy SD Bluetooth now, but look at the cost. $100+!!!
    So I was wondering:
    1. Has anyone ever seen anything like this done before?
    2. Is it a 'Hackable' project worth trying?
    3. Would there be a better place to post a question like this? Maybe a hardware forum that does these kinds of things, that im not aware of.
    4. Would this interfere with the SD standards? (evidently there is somethign called SDIO or SD I/O [See this and THIS]

Any reply would be appreciated, even if someone calls me a cheapo-idiot (usually being the guys and gals that make things better )

    Thanks

The "working parts" of a standard size bluetooth dongle will never fit in an SD card.

Instead you could place it inside the laptop soldered to the USB pins on the motherboard, as described here.

i don't know. in my day it was always a key, because that's what they were--licensing keys.

i have to try not to laugh when i hear people say 'dongle.'

You can connect to the same pins that the sockets do, as illustrated in the link in my last post.

That is a good idea, but what i fi havent opened my laptop case for the fact that i dont wanna break it?

meh, i dont care. im gonna get to it soon, but is there a way to add an antennae to to the bluetooth adapter, to give it more/better signal? and if so where?

Also you have some crazy stuff on your link...an internal flash drive? thats kinda redundant...unless you utilized it like vista's supposed to make plugged in, unused flash memory work as RAM...

can you even do that in Ubuntu?

but anyway, for some reason, i never thougth of that (internal usb-bluetooth).
    Thanks

I guess this thread is partially solved (you just gave me a workaround, and answered a couple of my questions)

i know, i know. but thats how i was first introduced it.

but, just so you know; I dont call flash drives 'thumb drives' or 'jump drives'. Its a flash drive. using flash memory
