I wonder, if this is similar to what I have at the moment( see
    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...54#post6197054 ) ?
But I did not install Ibex specially (I even don't know what is it), may be it
has come together with Ubuntu 8.o4 LTS ?
I did not solve yet the problem and seeking for at least some hint where from it could come.

Re: Ibex installed; Keyboard constantly repeating keys, like in bios

I have this same problem with repeating keys within Ubuntu 8.10, if I am too heavy handed on the keyboard, meaning depressing a key for longer than a nano-second, then I get this ressssuuulllltt... So it demands that I have better dexterity on my typing, and that is no easy task for me. I also noticed this repeating problem when I attemped to save a screen print from the clipboard, it opened about 10 windows all the same. So someone out there please help if you can. Thanks ~Mahogan

Re: Ibex installed; Keyboard constantly repeating keys, like in bios

My heavy handed repeating key problem is solved thanks to a very wise Ubuntu Guru... I disabled the repeating key function altogether and it works great for me. Here is what VWUG wrote to me in an e-mail:

try going under System > Preferences > Keyboard, and changing the "delay" under the "general" tab? If changing the delay doesn't work, try disabling the key repeat feature entirely in that dialog box. I did a quick google search on reported bugs at bugs.launchpad.net, and maybe this might help:
