I wanna keep this system as clean as possible, it's my non experimental system, and I want to stay as far away from dirty hacks as possible and keep all stable packages, the nvidia driver in ubuntu however has some bugs that makes things rather unpractical for me, which apperantly have been fixed in 180.06.
Now I've found ways to update using the nvidia installer, but that doesn't look like a very clean approach, especially if I find other issues with the new driver and need to revert to the officially supported one.
Whats the clean way of using a non supported driver?
If a bug is tracked, the fix in the nvidia driver is upstream and a developer needs people to test it, whats the suggested way of doing so, without screwing with future updates?
