Screen dim on battery power

I have a dell inspiron e1705. The screen dims abount half way when switched to battery power. This normally isn't a huge problem, but the ac cord is a little loose so every time i bump the cord the sreen dims. I need to know how to stop the screen from going dim.

This should be a simple fix. Try going to power management under your preferences. Click to the on battery power tab and uncheck the reduce backlight brightness box. This should stop the computer from reducing brightness when it goes to battery power, fixing your problem.
