cant run nautilis

I am running 8.04HH on a Sony Vaio POS.

last night I was able to run the nautilis, but today it wont load

no still wont work

When you say it won't run, what do you mean? When you select Places >> Home Folder what happens?

I get my /home/usr folder.. the taskbar shows up but the nautalis shell does not

nvm, it WAS TOO a typo. my little sister pointed it out. HA HA HA. gotta love kids

I'm not sure I understand what you are describing, but many of us had a problem with Intrepid mixing up nautilus with all sorts of other apps. I would get F-Spot whenever I tried to open a folder.

Anyhow, try this:

1. Right-click on your desktop and choose "Create Folder";
2. Right-click on this new untitled folder and select "Properties" at the bottom;
3. Go to the "Open With" tab and make sure that Nautilus is selected;
4. Now try "Places" >> "Home Folder" again. If it works, go ahead and delete the untitled folder.
