Is it only me or todays kernel upgrade is totally messed up?

I have Ubuntu 8.10 x86_64 installed a new few days ago and today I've seen new updates - kernel was inbetween.

So, it is my mess:
linux-backport-modules-intrepid-generic - metapacket is 2.6.27-8.12, actual packet is 2.6.27-8
linux-headers-generic - metapackage is 2.6.27-8.12, actual package is 2.6.27-8.17
linux-image-generic - metapackage is 2.6.27-8.12, actual package is 2.6.27-8.17
linux-restricted-modules - metapackage is 2.6.27-8.12, actual package is 2.6.27-8.13

Upadate manager claims that couldn't finalise installaton for reason of broken dependices (different revision of dependent package).

So... is it only me or it's world wide problem with package maitaners?
