Added atheros card after install. Newb to linux, need command line help.

I am running 6.10, I have not yet downloaded anything else. May end up doing that tonight. Anyway, I have only one real pressing issue and it is the T42 atheros ar5212 chipset wireless card I installed "after" running the Kubuntu install. I am so much of a newb to linux in general that I am not completely sure how I did it, but I managed to fix DVD playback using libdcss, so I am not completely hopeless, but I really need help with getting the command lines right and packages I need to get this install.

Chances are that Intrepid, the newest version will just recognise your card without you doing anything. Rather than spending an hour to fix it on 6.10 I would just install 8.10 if I were you.

Hello tikibomb. I would at least upgrade to Hardy. It is still supported for at least another year. I'm letting them work out the bugs in Intrepid before I move. If you want to keep 6.10 then go to http://snapshots.madwifi-project.org...-hal-0.10.5.6/ and download the driver. Then go to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Wi...Driver/Atheros to install it. Remember most commands start with sudo if you're going to be installing things into your system. Good luck hope this helps.
    Regards, Ray
