    [SOLVED] Cross-platform password manager-form filler

Has anybody found a cross-platform password manager-form filler? Any suggestions there? From what I understand it should be written in Java, but I cant find one. I tried LastPass, Revelation and KeypassX, but none of them are cross-platform.

Keepass and KeepassX are cross platform. I have used it on a Mac, XP, and Linux with no problems.

The Windows version is called Kepass:

you need a password manager for your browser or for more things?

If it's just your browser you could store your firefox profile on a usb stick and mount it cross-plattform (also at work....)

    Thank you for prompt replies.

What I was wondering is if there is a password manager, that I can store on a usb key as a program alone for example, and it could be ran from windows and from Linux.

I also wonder if there is one that could be run in a background or as a daemon, BUT auto fill forms like wand in Opera or Firefox feature.

PS. It might be too much to ask, but I would say that would be the ultimate password program.

On the Windows side they do have portable version of Keepass:

    http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/keepass_portable

You can share the database between Keepass and KeepassX. You'll need to have KeepassX installed in the Linux computers.

You can do what hyper_c suggested, in combination with Firefox add-ons: Secure Login and Master Password Timeout[this acts like the wand feature in Opera]. Making sure you use a Master Password.

You can also use your favorite password manger, create strong passwords, save to a text file, encrypt the text file and put in your usb stick.

Great suggestions guys, however not all machines I work with have Firefox installed on them. I guess what i mean is if I could have a USB key with a program installed on it,that I could launch from usb regardless of machine im on, and it would have a data base of passwords on USB, and auto fill forms in browsers that would be the rig///

I guess there are few too many wants

you can have firefox portable on it... at least it works on windows (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable) That means you have a firefox for all windows installs on your drive... and on linux/mac os you'd just have to set the profile folder accordingly.

Oh cool, I didn't realize Firefox had a portable version! Thanks a lot!

    That should solve my case.
