    Dvorak laptop?

    Couple of questions:

    I would like to try the dvorak layout, how can I set this up with Hardy Heron? Do I need another package?

    Also, does anyone know how to order new letters for the keyboard if I decide to keep the layout? I have a Latitude D820.

    Thanks!

    Re: Dvorak laptop?

    Go to:
    System->Preferences->Keyboard

    Then click on "Layout" Tab:
    Then click on "Add"
    Then under "Layouts" drop down choose your localization.
    Then under "Variants" drop down choose dvorak.

    Enjoy

    Re: Dvorak laptop?

    I'm having success learning to type and successfully re-arranged my keyboard, but dvorak doesn't seem to be system default. It reverts to qwerty at the logon screen. How can I change this?

    My old WPM was 70-ish. I'm already up to about 25-30. I like this because more commonly used letters are in the home row and easier to reach.
