Cannot send or forward email in Kubuntu 8.10

just installed Kubuntu 8.10. I love it!! If I can fix this one problem I think I've found my M$ Winblows replacement. Here's my problem:

No matter which email program I use(Kmail or Evolution) when I try to create or forward a new mail message they both crash to the desktop. I am receiving and reading email with no problem. I've searched around but can't seem to find anyone with this same problem. I'm new to kubuntu hopefully some of you Linux masters can help me out. Thanks, Jason

Try running the mail client from the command line then look at the error messages that you get when it crashes:
$ kmail

For example.

I'm trying to post the results but I can't due to images in the post. There is no images just text so I'm not sure what's going on.

When I start Evolution from the command line it starts fine. When I try and create a new message I get a Bus error. Anyone know what that means?

Ok here may be one more clue. Using system monitor I see when I hit new mail in system monitor it says Disk sleep under CPU next to Kmail. Hope this helps.

Evolution also shows the Disk Sleep in system monitor. This must be a clue. Maybe in the power management setting or something. Need some help here guys please.
