Thanks Andreas. I finally got hooked up with a pile of new fonts. I went to "Fontypython", downloaded some files from the "North American" list, and then went to Synaptic package Mgr and loaded them from there. Seems odd they should have been there in the 1st place, but I couldn't find them previously.
Ubuntu is a pretty hot item, but it's a bit of a cat & mouse game figuring it out.
