Automatic application launch/start/run after user logn

How would one make an application launch/start/run at time of user login?

I've reclaimed a decommissioned PC, loaded Ubuntu 8.10 (desktop) GUI
to use as a stand in terminal server client device while the failed unit
    is 'out for repair'.

It was a snap configuring 'tsclient 0.150' to connect to the existing terminal server.
Now I want to create a "simplified user experience" such as; the user logs in,
and is then presented with a terminal server session.

How can is this be done?

    Second question...
The caps lock key doesn't work or 'flow thru' to the terminal session.
(If the user holds the shift key caps will type thru to the terminal session.)

Is there a setting within tsclient to enable the caps lock key?

    have you tried:
    System > preferences > sessions
is that what you are looking for?
