    [SOLVED] Transmission blocks sleep/suspend: workaround?

    Hey all,

When attempting to enter sleep, I get
"Request to do policy action Transmission BitTorrent Client has stopped the policy action from taking place: BitTorrent Activity"

This is really annoying. I know this is fixed in the current beta of Transmission, but it seems overkill to fix it by upgrading to a beta (that must be compiled from source). What are other folks doing about this? What's your workaround? Switch clients? Downgrade? Upgrade to beta?

    thanks,

This has been fixed in the Ubuntu-provided Transmission update on 11-08-08. So, just update your systems folks, and it's fixed.

I'm also getting this with VLC.

    Anybody know how to fix?

    Cheers

There's a setting in the VLC options. "Inhibit the power management daemon during playback". You will have to enable all options to see it.

    Hi Kareeser,

    Thanks for the reply...

The "Inhibit the power management daemon during playback" option was enabled in my VLC settings.

I've disabled the setting, here's hoping!

    Thanks again
