    Question Video playback issues

I posted a thread a while back about issues I was having with flash videos on my 8.10 installation. No solution was ever found but after some observation I noticed my issue applies to ALL video playback. It's not really a show stopping problem but it sure as hell is annoying.

The problem being that there is only what I can describe as flickering or horizontal lines that show up in the video whenever there is a lot of action or movement in the video. The issue doesn't occur under Windows however the problem happens in other distributions as well.

    Ubuntu 8.10
    Intel Centrino Duo 2@1.73ghz
4gb ram (3 usable due to 32 bit limit)
    Intel 945gm integrated graphics

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Re: Video playback issues

Are you using the xine or gstreamer backend? I had some video playback issues a while back which were solved by switching backends.

Granted, this should not have any effect on flash video... but it's a start.
