Will this Centrino notebook specifications work?

Just wondering if this old notebook will work with Ubuntu or Xubuntu 8.10?

It should run Intrepid quite well, why not try the LiveCD and see how everything works.

Ubuntu, Kubuntu or Xubuntu for this old machine?

I am attracted to Xubuntu but as i have read lately, it is not as "lightweight" as it once was. And I need openoffice.

Everything should work. Maybe some small problems with the wireless and PCMCIA card. Try Ubuntu 8.10 first. If it works, then the others should work to. Don't install it first, rather run it from the Live CD with wire connection to the internet. Hope it works! Good luck!
