Acer Aspire

I have just been given an Acer Aspire 5310 with Vista pre-installed on it and on login only the vowels work, preventing a login even with a new install only the vowels work, is it a known problem with these laptops? i am not even able to access the bios as its password protected and Acer insist it goes back to them for a small fee to reset the bios.

Any help with this problem gratefully appreciated

Here is an odd fix that I use ofter. I just plug a usb keyboard in and use it until I am in..

I dont have 1, though if i can get my hands on 1 i will try that?
