    eeepc wifi

    Absolute Noob.
I have installed 8.04 onto my eeepc 900. I have followed these instructionsto configure my wifi but with no luck. I tried the madwife methos but no luch so I also tried the Ndiswrapper technique.
I wander if I am mising something obvious.
Where do I go to turn on the wifi?
I have looking in the Network Settings box but that lists only wire connection and point to point connection.
    TIA

I installed the madwifi driver to my 4gb surf eee pc using those instructions. Do you know if the wireless drivers (madwifi) installed ok? In order to follow those instructions you need to be online via ethernet to download the wifi drivers.

Fn+F2 toggles the wireless on/off.. you should notice the indicator light. (at least it worked with my eee pc)

Hi, I had the ethernet connected and got no error messages while installing madwifi.
I have tried fn f2 but nothing happens
When you click on the network icon - top right of screen, and then click on manual config do you see anything about wifi there?
    I don't.

The problem is obviously with your mad wife!

Is there a reason why you have to use 8.04? I have an eeepc 900a and 9.04 (jaunty) works out-of-the-box with everything.

    Re: eeepc wifi

I booted from a USB flash drive into Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.04 on my Asus EeePC 904 but it would not recognise the wifi at all. I looked at the workaround to install the drivers, but if running from a live flash drive, how would I go about getting the wifi to work? I want to replace the current setup using Xandros, and replace it with either Ubuntu or possibly Lubutu, Eeebuntu or similar.
