    Disable xcompmgr

    Hello there.

I've installed the compiz package here in gOS. I used a script called compiz-check i found in the internet, and i helped me find out that xcompmgr was not allowing compiz to work. So, the script itself asked me if i wanted to get it disabled, which i answered yes. Now, when i booted the machine the next morning, i had to run the script to get xcompmgr disabled again. How can i get it shutdown for good?

    Thanks a bunch guys!!!!

Yes, I lived through exactly the same story.

Simply remove xcompmgr from your list of startup programs.
Go to System->Preferences->Sessions and remove xcompmgr from the list (or uncheck it).
